CRESNET is a Canadian national, non-profit corporation which was formed in March of 2007. In July of 2007 we signed an Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with RESNET to access their full set of standards of practice and technical specifications for rating the energy performance of residential buildings for Canada.
CRESNET is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of Canadian energy raters, energy consultants, manufacturers of energy efficient products, engineers and designers. We are a member organization for energy raters across Canada.
Using the tools provided by RESNET, our Vision is to strengthen the private and public sector’s understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental impact. CRESNET strives to become Canada’s leading resource in sustainable and energy efficient consulting for residential construction and renovation. Our goal is to have all rated new construction homes at HERS 53 (NBC Tier 3) or better and renovations at 50% better than their existing condition by 2024.
To quantify the energy and environmental attributes of Canadian homes, thereby helping drive performance towards improved energy efficiency, sustainability and while reducing environmental impacts.
